Prof. Genki Kobayashi

Genki Kobayashi is currently Chief Scientist and Director of Solid State Chemistry Laboratory at RIKEN, investigating energy storage and conversion materials and devices. He received his Ph.D. from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2010. After spending six months as a postdoctoral fellow at Tokyo Tech. and two years as an Assistant Professor at Kanagawa University (2011-2013), he joined the faculty of the Institute for Molecular Science as Research Associate Professor (2013-2018), and then Associate Professor (2018-2022). He was moved to RIKEN in 2022. His current research interests include the development of hydride-ion-conducting materials for new electrochemical applications.
