Yandong Wang
University of Science and Technology Beijing, China
Yandong Wang is currently a Changjiang distinguished professor in the State Key Laboratory for Advanced Metals
and Materials, University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB). His main research contributions include (1)
the application of the neutron and synchrotron-based X-ray diffraction techniques to the study of deformation
and phase transformation in engineering materials for advising the advanced manufacturing and (2) the discovery
on the new phenomenon on elasticity with the mechanism called as “supercritical elasticity” for some alloys
exhibiting non-hysteretic superelasticity and huge high-energy-storage capability. He received the NSFC
Outstanding Young Scientist Award and the First-Class Natural Science Prize awarded by the Ministry of Education
(MOE) of China. His research team was awarded as one of the excellent Sci-Tech innovation teams by Ministry of
Science and Technology (MOST) of China. He has over 380 publications in some referred journals, including
Science (2), Nature (2), Nature Materials (2), PNAS (1). His work was cited over 11,000 times by the SCI journal
papers, including some achievements reported, highlighted or reviewed by the magazines such as Science or text
books etc.
